Community in the Digital Age is necessary!

Good day, I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. I wanted to let you in on a little secret… come closer… a little closer… guess what? CHICKEN BUTT!

All jokes aside, I’m glad you stopped by today. Community in the Digital Age is indeed necesary for one to not only maneuver around the ever changing world: phyiscally and virtually but also finding your tribe and being surrounded by folks who welcome you with no judgement, allowing you to be comfortable in your own skin. And one thing about the internet I’ve learned is that it breeds escapist and individuals who aren’t fully aware of themselves. Well, I invite you to be yourself here. This is a safe space, okay?

The reason why I’m making this announcement today is due to several segments that I’ll be bringing forth into the world. Content creation is evolving, so is blogging and to keep up is one thing but to stand out is something different. With these segments, I hope not only to help others be more comfortable with their interests but also become more aware of themselves in every aspect of their daily life. I think that we’re so consumed with other people’s interests and what they’re doing or how they’re living we often forget that our lives need to be lived and have goals that need to be met. Everything is under a microscope these days, I don’t think that’s cool but I do think its cool to build relationships through adulthood, virtually and physically. Its easier to connect with folks now but at the same time, it has become harder to build trust and genuine connection. I’m unsure if its due to the internet and social media or if its just a random thing that’s actually affecting everyone differently. One thing I know for sure is that what seems to unite people is art. That is one of my goals with my work.

I am no escapist. I write what I think and how I feel. I also create random storylines which depict reality how I perceive it. My line of work allows me to focus on what’s important also confronting it. And what I’d like for my work to do for you? I’d like for you to find yourself in my words. I’d like for my work to inspire you to pursue your dreams and be more comfortable as an individual instead of being a carbon copy of what’s popular and relevant. I know, that’s asking for a lot but look at it this way: originality is key and you are one of one, right? Alright then, let’s get it craccin’!

Today is a new day, so let’s make the most of it! Do not be afraid to begin, again. No one gets anything right the first time but if you keep at it, you’ll master it. I aim to be a master of my craft who produces work that makes myself and others feel safe and seen by our standards. So with all of that being said, I am J.C. King. Your new favorite author.
